Across Australia, the red meat processing industry creates a range jobs for thousands of people, including many hard-working women - and More to Meat is making sure you hear about them!
Women from all walks of life have joined the industry for different reasons, whether it’s work flexibility, an interest in science or a trade, or just greater career certainty.
Meet Kaitlin
Kaitlin Dallavanzi, a qualified hairdresser decided to give up hair cuts for cold cuts by switching industries for a new job in red meat processing.
The 25-year-old Ingham local found greater variety, security and pay within red meat processing, and now works as part of the criteria team inspecting meat.

Meet Nikita
Nikita Ellison, a 24-year-old Sustainability Coordinator at Nolan Meats in Gympie has pursued a career in red meat processing to chase her passion for agriculture.
Nikita loves the fast-paced working environment and flexibility offered by Nolan Meats which allowed her to complete her Bachelor of Agriculture Business and Bachelor of Sustainable Agriculture while working.

Meet Julie
Julie started working in red meat processing a few days a week and now 20 years later she has developed the skills and training to become a leader in her organisation.
Julie is one of the many women in the Tamworth community whose job is supported by the red meat processing industry including farmers, truckdrivers, and tradespeople.
Industry and government relations director Veneta Chapple said the More to Meat campaign aims to continue to raise awareness of the opportunities in red meat processing for women.
"Women are a really important part of our workforce; it's really important to have diversity in our processing plants," Ms Chapple said.
The More to Meat campaign will continue to profile hard-working Aussie women who make up the red meat processing industry.
